This video was shot and edited on Walthamstow Marshes in one afternoon with the help of my neighbour Guy, who luckily didn’t really know what he was doing with my camera. I wanted it to be shaky and nicely out of focus in places to suit the mood of the song so this worked out perfectly. Continue reading “New music video for ‘Ghost Around’”
Filming with Ronnie Le Drew
I had the most wonderful day yesterday making a music video down by the river for a new track about climate change called ‘Leave It In The Ground’.
Once again I was working with the amazing puppeteer Ronnie Le Drew, along with the dream team of Alex Swinfen and David Kaplowitz who helped me make my last video for David Cameron.
We have a few more days of filming to go and I look forward to sharing it with you soon.
old song, new friends
There has recently been a flurry of interest in my track ‘Hackney Gentrification Song’ with local publications N16 Magazine, Dalston TV and Hackney Post all giving it virtual shout outs.
It has also come to the attention of the film crew making ESTATE, a non-fiction feature film about a Hackney estate which is soon to be bulldozed. You can find out more about the film here and have a look at the ‘behind the scenes’ section of the site which uses my song.
rec movie trailer
I randomly just found out that my music was used in the trailer for this 2011 korean gay film called REC.
Half a million people have watched the youtube trailer… I wish they had asked me first and possibly even licensed the damn song!
I am just dropping them a line now to say hello and see if they have anything to say for themselves…

my music is now on iLicenseMusic
I have always had a lot of time for John Buckman, the man behind Magnatune so I am really happy to be getting involved in his newest venture, iLicenseMusic.
You can see my page on the site here – http://ilicensemusic.com/g/Alt%20Rock/Robin%20Grey …and yes, of course I am ‘alt-rock’ …how dare you suggest otherwise!
iLicenseMusic provides royalty free music can be reuse and distribute in pretty much any project. A £89 monthly fee gives complete access to the entire catalog, which seems like a good deal to me and John always makes sure a good chunk of that money gets to the creators and musicians.
skateboarding in egypt documentary
A lovely guy called Brett has been in contact about using some of my music in a documentary he has made on the emerging skateboarding scene in Egypt.
He currently has a kickstarter campaign going to raise money for this – have a peek at the trailer below and do head over here to see more – http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1120573517/slipping-skates-impact-on-egypt
