Oh golly gosh, I was up in Northumberland to see my Nana for a peaceful break after the ‘Three Acres And A Cow‘ spring tour, when a nasty big blue bus cut me up on my bike… and then I had a little unplanned chance to sing to David Cameron… Quite an unexpected bit of serendipity perhaps?

Fire In The Mountain festival

FITM2015eflyerReally looking forward to performing at Fire In The Mountain in May.

It is a wonderful little festival set in a beautiful part of Wales which I have heard so much about. They have bands and musicians coming from the USA, Canada, Scotland, Ireland, England and Wales including Appalachian fiddle master Bruce Molsky and Scottish and Irish pipers Ross Ainslee and Jarlath Henderson

I will be performing ‘Three Acres And A Cow, A History Of Land Rights And Protest In Folk Song And Story‘ with Rachel Rose Reid as well as a set of my own songs with Chance Kellner on the violin and backing vocals.

Grow Heathrow’s 5th birthday on Saturday 28th February

Grow-Heathrow-1024x827‘Grow Heathrow‘ is an occupied market garden site in Sipson; one of the villages to be completely tarmaced to make way for a third runway at Heathrow. That it is still around after five years is utterly brilliant and testament to the passion, dedication and graft of some of the most wonderful people I know.

I am really looking forward to performing at their fifth birthday party (which goes on for the best part of three days) and will feature some of the most amazing cakes you have ever seen and tasted.

PS – Don’t expect the gardens to look quite as lush as in that photo… It was taken in summer and alas February is not the most aesthetically pleasing month in the garden!
